  • Jr. Minecraft Club

Have fun with fellow Minecrafters ages 6-9 in this JW-exclusive course. Every week we will have fun playing and learning together using Minecraft Education Edition. Students can be absolute beginners wanting to learn how to play and/or would like to improve in their Minecraft skills. We will use custom private servers to encourage learning while playing! ------------- $$$ Tip: Classes are $12/week if booked per session. Save $$ by purchasing in bulk by selecting the Monthly Budget Plan, which is $40 for 4 sessions of your choice (you choose the dates you attend)! And don't forget about our Mossflower Rewards program, where you earn points for each purchase and can exchange them for discounts. -------------- SCHEDULE: During the months of August - October, our older students will be collaborating on a Bible Lands themed world server. Each week we will build a world together that features many important and significant locations in the Bible, including: - Biblically accurate Solomon's temple - Noah's ark to scale (hint: it is MASSIVE! All hands on deck for this one!) - Jerusalem and Bethlehem - Ancient Egypt in Moses' day - Mount Sinai - Babylon in Daniel's time - Jericho - Iconic scenes from the Bible (David and Goliath, the parting of the Red Sea, Paul's ministry locations and more) ‼️ NOTE: There is no class the week of Oct 21! Our Jr. Minecraft players will be invited to play in the "sandbox" version of these custom-built worlds and submit their feedback to the creators for improvement! We will also have some free-play at the end of class. Minecraft Education Edition is free to download here: https://education.minecraft.net/en-us/get-started/download You are not required to sign up for the free trial or pay for a subscription. Your custom license to use during our classes is included with your enrollment in this course. Your learner will be given a custom login and password to use during our classes and even between classes, giving you access 24/7 for as long as you are enrolled. Note: We do not play in Survival mode, only in Creative. Mobs (like zombies and creepers) are disabled, as well as PvP (player vs. player), ensuring that students play nice and learn proper gaming etiquette. Our rule in class is: if you didn't make it, don't break it! For the Jr. course it works best to book these classes monthly, in 4-week increments.

  • JW Minecraft Weekly Club (Tuesdays)

Are you a homeschooler looking for core subjects that aren't just boring videos or textbooks? Let's make learning fun with Minecraft Education Edition! My name is Ms. Astrid and our school, Mossflower Academy, is a certified Minecraft Education organization. Using the Minecraft Education platform I will be using game-based learning. Each week your learner will have access to our private account, where they will participate in weekly build challenges, educational servers, coding tutorials, games and co-op play. Here is a list of our upcoming classes: SCHEDULE: During the months of August - October, students will be collaborating on a Bible Lands themed world server. Each week we will build a world together that features many important and significant locations in the Bible, including: - Biblically accurate Solomon's temple - Noah's ark to scale (hint: it is MASSIVE! All hands on deck for this one!) - Jerusalem and Bethlehem - Ancient Egypt in Moses' day - Mount Sinai - Babylon in Daniel's time - Jericho - Iconic scenes from the Bible (David and Goliath, the parting of the Red Sea, Paul's ministry locations and more) ‼️ NOTE: there is no class the week of October 21! I will be on vacation. 😎 Our plan is to build a world for our Jr. Minecraft kids to "test out", so if you have a learner who is too young for this class, consider booking the Jr. Minecraft class, where they will get to play in the "sandbox" version of this custom-build world and submit feedback for the older kids to improve on! Students can attend on a weekly subscription; classes are $10/week and include access to your own Minecraft Education account during class. You can also pay for a month at a time using our Pricing Plans option, which will also give you access to the Minecraft Education account between classes!

  • Coyote & Crow Gameplay (Teens)

Coyote & Crow is a fantasy/sci-fi tabletop role playing game (TTRPG) set in a First Nations alternate future where colonization never happened. The game was created and lead by an all Native team, and has become one of the most successful RPGs to ever find on Kickstarter, where it launched in March 2021. Plot summary: C&C is set in an alternate future of our own world (specifically North America). The future is different because a massive climate disaster around the year 1400 changed everything; colonizers did not “discover” America, and the indigenous peoples of the Americas were able to forge their own path. While they struggled under a centuries-long ice age, the planet began to heal and people survived. Hundreds of years in the future, civilization has flourished and technology advanced. Along the way, the people discovered and learned to cultivate the Adanadi, or the Gift, a strange purple mark left on all life after the event that changed the course of history (possibly a meteor, etc). The purple mark, when harnessed properly, has given humans access to gifts and abilities that we would call superhuman. However the world isn’t utopian. As the world heals, nations have growing needs, treaties are tested, old grudges are renewed, and oceans and distant continents wait to be explored! What is a roleplaying game? A roleplaying game is collective storytelling with a few rules and some dice rolling. These aspects, along with Player choices, help shape the story and its outcome. Players take on the role of protagonists in the story, while the Story Guide (Ms. Astrid) speaks for all other characters and helps referee the rules. The ending unfolds as we play! I was privileged to meet some of the people who worked on this project when I purchased the core rule book. My kids and I had always wanted to try out more tabletop role playing games, but we were disappointed to realize that most of the groups were exclusively playing Dungeons and Dragons. Unfortunately. D&D is not aligned with our personal beliefs and Bible-led consciences, so we were very happy to find this alternative, where the setting uses plenty of imagination, tech and science rather than magic and spells, etc. Of course, everyone’s conscience is different, and that’s ok too. If you’re not sure whether C&C is for you, please check out their website or reach out to me with questions. I’d be happy to explain the plot, characters and any other details that can help you make a decision!
